Absolutely not.
Across the continent are emerging new designers that demonstrate how much Africa has to give in terms of fashion. They are inspired by their own culture with strong colours and patterns. Many of them use the famous "capulana" - a traditionally cloth worn by women to gird the body, making a skirt, cobirpudendal trunk and head up - in their creations.
This collections are locally sourced and sold, giving fashionistas access to pieces that look as good in Nairobi as they would in New York. It's no longer necessary to leave continent to be fashinable.
